Many player cleaning kits exist as do kits that clean DVD discs themselves.

$10, more or less.

9. Just chuck it into the washing machine

along with all of your laundry.

11. Actually with CDs, anyways, you can actually wash them off with

a soft rag, mild soap like shampoo, rinse and fold a towel around it. I've done it myself.

Wipe straight - from the hole to the edge. Never in circular motions.

...a high-quality belt sander should eliminate the problem. ;)
