I'm off to make supper
Got some tortelloni (can't remember what's inside them), and I'm going to knock up a sauce with some pancetta, ricotta, creme fraiche, tomatoes, and wine. :bounce:

Then we're going to start to work through the Dukes of Hazzard season 1 on D.V.D. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

2. I can certainly spare a plate
But there won't be any food on it :P

Of course - I always make far too much when I cook, which makes me fat, which is not good. The more people round for food the merrier - and the booze round here ain't half bad either.

5. I'm doing supper too. Pork spare ribs slow cooked over hickory.
I'll have fresh silver queen corn and fresh okra (fried) from the garden. Tomatoes and mozzarella with basil and olive oil, chilled cucumber slices with onions in vinegar, and corn bread will also be served. Yum!

17. Sounds gorgeous
I've only had really bad imitation ribs - the real thing are going to have to wait until I finally visit the U.S.

Southern B.B.Q. in a D.U. t-shirt - sounds like a recipe for some good times to me. :D

26. Where are you? UK?
I write for a UK-based (Farnborough) magazine. Oh, the ribs were heavenly! The okra divine! The corn was good, but not the best.

Mac in the mountains.

13. Passive aggressive - little me?
I'm shocked even at the suggestion.

I just sit here minding my own business - buying D.V.D.s with hot men, and gorgeous accents - and I get accused of passive aggression.

But you're still not going to irritate me. I've got Dukes of Hazzard D.V.D.s :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

11. I know that I'm vain
But even I don't take 6 hours over a shower. That part was finished ages ago - then I went shopping - then I posted some nonsense here - then I cooked supper - then I ate supper - then I came back here to find you and sundog sniping at me.

My hair looked incomparably horrendous, and I had a hideous day's growth all over my face to be shaved off - the stink was only the half of it. :scared:

How can you not like the Dukes of Hazzard? That's almost as bad as my not liking poetry - at least I accept that poetry is great art, even if I choose not to read it much.

As to your boundaries - I'm not sure that I even want to get near them.... :P

:loveya: :hugs: nonetheless

14. Well the sauce did multiply in size as it was being made
and more ingredients were being added.

All I meant was that it was no great feat of culinary art - if your dirty mind applies some double entendre I can hardly be blamed can I? :P

15. There's plenty
But you have to come over here to get it. I can't be bothered to send food across the pond - besides what do you think that U.S. customs would make of it? :P

edit: This applies to only the original series, not that travesty of a movie they just made.

19. Just as long as you've got the voice to go with it.
It's probably my biggest aural weekness (even more so than the music of Sir Arthur Sullivan) - there's something almost music abuot the various southern accents (though I'm far from knowledgeable enough to compare them).

You got it bad, bro. :D

I feel the same way about British accents. Yummy! :D I watch way to much BBC America.

edit: I do have a southern accent, but it's more of the Andy Griffith kind.
