I was sick as a dog all week
I was virtually doubled over in pain from abdominal cramps. I haven't eaten solid food in days. I am only now starting to feel better.
My doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong (he put me on an all liquid diet and gave me fucking suppositories :scared: for my throwing up :grr:), but my mother is convinced that I had gallstones (she has suffered from gallstones many times in her life).

I still don't know what made me so sick but I didn't sleep for days because of the pain. I am starting to recover

2. Awww...Zuni!
I am soo sorry. If you had gallstones, you will still have them. They don't go away, and can be life threatening if you don't get them taken care of.

Ask for an ultrasound to see if it is indeed gallstones. Since your mom had them, heredity is not on your side.

I had my gallbladder removed because it was packed with gallstones. That was my first symptom...the cramps. Even pain in my chest that felt like what I thought was a heart attack. When I finally went to the ER was when I, like you, couldn't stop throwing up after eating a corn dog, of all things.

Your mom knows the symptoms. Get checked out.

 :loveya:

5. I am going to make an appointment to get checked for them
I felt like I was gut shot with a .45 for several days. The pain was unbearable and constant.

I am still mad at my doctor. I didn't like him much before, but the way he rushed through the check up was beneath contempt. The thing is, at that office there are a number of excellent doctors, nurses and everyone else there is fantastic. But my personal doctor is an a-hole

Thanks Maddy

12. The best thing I could do, when I had an attack...
was to lay on my side in fetal position and practice rhythmic breathing. Breath in quickly, blow out quickly. It would make the pain subside somewhat, but I was never without pain until I had the damned thing yanked out.

That was in 1986. Back then, the solution was to remove the whole gall bladder. The surgery left me with a 7" scar on my abdomen. Now days, they do laproscopy, and you hardly have a scar.

Best wishes and hugs to you. I've been there. I know it's miserable.

If I lived nearby, I'd bring you some chicken soup.

3. Damn! I'm sorry to hear that.
Some of my friends seem to be getting really sick these days. I hope they're getting better.

Plus, there's s selfish thing on my part...I miss seeing them around here.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

And welcome back. :-)

6. Thank you Sundog
I would have checked in, but I was literally too sick to sit infront of a computer. I felt like a cannonball blasted me in the abdominal region

17. Zuni, that's awful.
I'm sorry you went through that. I'll bet you're exhausted now. All you can do is rest. Thanks for letting us know you're still with us. I'm glad you're recovering.

(Doctors NOT KNOWING what's wrong really freaks me out)
