2. Last year, I wondered why the IRS raised mileage rates so high.
up from 37-1/2 cents/mile to 40-1/2 cents/mile. Now I begin to wonder if they knew something the rest of us didn't.

Even though much of my mileage is reimbursed, I feel guilty submitting the slips to my churches, who can barely afford to pay me.

Not in a suburb.

4. Probably in excess of $500/mo
We have a farm. Even though we rely on horse power for a great deal of work power (we have a team that can do some basic chores), we still use tractors also.

We are in the red now, I can't imagine trying to operate farm machinery when gas hits $100/barrel (shudder).

5. I live in West L.A. and work in Orange county...
the gas prices here are really getting out of control. I'm spending over $200 a month on gas...I f'in' can't believe it. Plus...I can't believe people aren't rioting in the streets...oh yea, that's right...they didn't riot when * was "installed" illegally into the White House, they didn't riot when they found out we went to war for no reason.....They aren't rioting about Valerine Plame, on and on and on. What in the mother f'in' hell will it take? I just wish someone could really explain this to me...I simply don't understand.....:-(

7. About 35 bucks
I don't drive much (obviously) But I could fill up my crappy Nissan for 12 bucks and it would run forever. Not so easy with my new car.

8. I have a Prius
so rising gas prices are more a cause for smug self-satisfaction than real monetary concern.
