wireless laptop - couldn't connect at Panera
I tried everything.
Another person came in and connected right away.
I bought this in April
I don't remember if I have used as wireless before

uninstalled and reinstalled driver
rebooted
used the connectivity doctor
error ip address not ref correctly (c-19)
also limited or no connectivity

refreshed
ip address assigned
169.251.65.210 - so an ip address was retrieved

showed the antenna above the off on image with the yellow caution
showed the connection as 11 mpbs

1. You poor thing!
Life can be hard, can't it?

(Others may wonder; I did, and Googled: it seems that "Panera" is a new overpriced, overhyped sort of Starbucks-for-Bread:

2. Pretty much sums it up...
but if you get lucky the coffee is drinkable and the bagels are tasty.

4. But they do have free wifi access
around here you have to pay for access at Starbuck's

And if you order a sandwich, the portions are HUGE!

3. I use the wireless Internet at my local coffee shop nearly daily, and
occasionally, it just won't work for me. Or it will work fine for me and not work for the person at the next table.

Try again on another visit.

9. 169.x.x.x series IP addresses are Windows Autoconfig addresses
It indicates that Windows was not able to assign a real IP to your machine. It was not able to find a DHCP server to pull down an IP from.

Just a bit of info for you.... 169.x.x.x = no go...
