supporting Kucinich I believe...a bunch of freeper types from the local Nazi Youth (young repugs from Drake University) got in her face and tried to disrupt the rally - I'll never forget the look of absolute fright and terror in those punks faces when Jett wen ballistic on them, it was priceless....young 20 somethin' males gettin' their balls handed to them on a platter

7. I heard her talking with Al Franken about her USO work

on AAR a couple of weeks ago. She was really great about making the point that we can support our troops without supporting BushCo's policies. Bravo Joan!

12. great 70- 80s rock and roll singer and guitar player

in an all female band called the Runaways she was probably the most talented one)

and then in Joan Jett and the Blackhearts... remember a song called " "I love Rock and Roll" - you had to have heard it on a jukebox, radio or sports event somewhere. She wrote great songs, and plays a mean guitar.

I saw her several times in the 80s. She was the quintessential female rocker of that time, and perhaps of any time. Well, maybe after Patti Smith, that is. :)

When my daughter was in Afghanistan she got to avoid a friggin' Hooters girl show. (Did you know that some of them can sing? And even dance? Went over there to entertain the troops. My daughter however, was not entertained. Or even mildly interested) She saw Robin Williams, though, thought he was great. She would have loved to see Joan Jett. No worth going back for of course she said it was hell on earth.
