How many pets (animals) sleep on your bed?

I normally end up with four cats,and a dog. I usually read some before I turn off the light. Talon snuggles under one elbow and Sala under the other, its almost like having a chair with two cats being the arms. Rudy (dog) is next to hubby and Mitten and Spot curled in tight balls at the foot.

Three ALWAYS-- the three males, who have occasioned middle of the night complaints that I have more boys in my bed than Michael Jackson when they use their weight to shrink-wrap me to the bed. One of the females sometimes joins us, but NEVER both of them.

4. My girls are like that too.

They are loving but not needy like the guys. From this behavior in my cats I have come to the conclusion that, the boys that need more cuddle time than the girls.

...space with other cats, even with one another. Both were rescues, and I think that has more to do with it than their gender, really. They are very lovey when they have my sole attention-- one is downright clingy-- but they're competitive and a bit territorial with the other cats, even though "territory" in this case is defined in terms of a few surrounding square feet, more like "personal space." Both girls prefer to sleep outside during the summer, too-- they've made nests in the back yard.

Here's my bed, without me in it. The big lug up by the pillow weighs 18 lbs! The tabby belonged to former neighbors, but knew which side of the fence the real pushover lives on.

During the summer it's just the two brothers near the foot of the bed and the big boy up near the pillow. The other dark siamese is his mother, who usually sleeps outside until the winter rain starts. The tortie is missing from this photo, but when she sleeps on the bed, it's nearly always perched on the other pillow.

It's one of the few decorative items she left behind when we divorced. I actually don't use it very frequently-- the cats get it dirty pretty quickly.

11. My cat Oreo used to sleep on my legs, on my bed.

2 years ago his brother Unkas died and for some reason he stopped. He comes up on the bed when I first get in for a good scratch, sometimes hangs around for awhile, but then is off to lay on the spot where Unkas always slept at the top of the stairs.

12. When I lived at home we had a cat

And mom wouldn't let the cat sleep on any of the beds because she sheds so bad. The cat would sometimes get caught sleeping on a bed and would get shooed off of it, but she never tried to get on my bed for some reason. As a matter of fact she rarely even entered my room. I wonder if my room was inhabited with a spirit that made her wary? Sometimes she would just stick her head in the door when I was on my computer and then she would head back out to the living room.

Seriously, she sleeps on my side and I normally have to gently kind of move her over when I go down for the night. She normally looks at me like "what?!?!?! you want to sleep in my bed AGAIN?!?!?!"

The pet I most miss is my kitty, Rhiannon. She was the only one who would cuddle.:hug:

My friend has three cats and three dogs, not to mention a little girl and a husband. From what she says, they pretty much all end up sleeping in the same bed. It's a wonder that anyone manages to get any sleep, since there are apparently turf wars between her eldest kitty and her spaniel...:shrug: So you're not alone in this...:D

35. None now. Used to be that 2 cats did, then one dog.

But when we moved into this house one cat has never liked coming into the bedroom. We finally banished the other cat, because she insisted on taking baths during peak REM sleep hours. Then the dog loved to join us, but it led to him being bad and trying to take over the leadership of the entire house. Now the cats sleep downstairs, and the dog has his own little bed next to our bed.

They're adapting to their new home quickly. I've got an apartment on the 1st floor that faces the street, and they love to sit in the front windows in the living room, watching the cars go by, just like they used to at the house.

At one point in my life, I lived alone with a herd of animals - I slept with four Boxers and a Beagle. Dixie snuggled up in the curve of my belly, Zena stretched out against my back, Knuckles curled up at the foot of the bed, Jake curled up in the crook of my knees and the Beagle slept under the covers on my feet.

I loved it - it was like puppies sleep, all of us piled on top of one another.
