I just had an argument with the dry cleaner...
:eyes:
This is the dry cleaner that I have gone to for months, without any problems. It is an in by 9, out by 5 type of place, which is great because same day service is always what I need. I went in with my laundry bag and put it on the counter...everything fine until that point.

She noticed that there was some cat hair on one of the black sweaters. With two cats, that is always the case, and I have never had any problem getting them cleaned. Plus, that is what those sticky rollers are for. They must have climbed into the dry cleaning pile yesterday because of the noise, and I don't blame them. The woman started getting very emotional and she said "we can't get this out, we can't get this out". I said calmly that it had never been a problem, and if it is for her, I can gladly take the laundry and money elsewhere that could. Then, she changed the story and said that it would be ready on FRIDAY! Again, I said that if I could not get my clothes done in the amount of time that I usually do, that I would go elsewhere. I was putting the clothes back into the bag. She literally grabbed my hands and the laundry and put them back on the counter. She said "Okay, it will be done at 6:30". I said that "No, that will not be necessary...I will be taking my business elsewhere." If looks would kill, I wouldn't be posting here right now. I took it to a place a block away, and there were no problems and the clothes will be ready this afternoon. I think I found a new dry cleaner.

3. I hate when a sevice person "bums the flow" after a good run...

It sounds so trite but it's true -- there is nothing like consistent, seamless transactions in your life -- whether its the car wash, coffee shop, grocery or video store. When one fouls up, it really throws you out of joint. And when it's in a small town, it really sucks.

4. yes it does
When my favorite Indian restaurant served me some water with a roach swimming in it, that's exactly how I felt.

Wonder if the owner of this establishment will find out he lost a customer due to this silliness on the part of the counter person.

5. Ahh, food service. My pet peeve is
when pizza guys handle money and food without washing their hands. Often they won't even use the spatchler correctly -- putting their thumb on the slice or even flicking it into the oven without using a tool at all. Or when they wear rubber gloves to handle the food and then handle money as well.

A roach in the water glass could happen anywhere but it sure is a turn off. A clean bathroom is a good barometer of how clean a place is... at least according to an awesome book called Kitchen Confidential which you may have heard of.
