A teacher I know, in her 60's is experiencing ageism...
as she tries to get a job in the Miami-Dade school system. She has an outstanding resume, wonderful recommendations and is awesome.... She jumped through all the hoops of the application process including background checks, fees, etc. And now she gets ignored -- no call backs, from a school system, human resources etc. And this is from a school system that constantly and publicly announces its teacher shortage. This is B.S. She has so much to offer. I told her to speak to the union and force the ageism issue but its not her style.

1. Too many people, regardless of age, are getting fucked.
By our so-called "Christian" system, no less.

2. That stuff gets more pronounced when people hit 50.
