2. Oh... Geeze. I forgot about all of that!
THE FEES! Ca-rumba!

I thought about saying "Finding a new place" and
"Getting out of the old place" because many people
rent or lease.

What do you think?

3. I hate packing up with a passion. But unpacking is
a little better b/c you can find new things to do with your stuff. Looking for a new place can be exciting.

4. I agree!
It's fun to arrange your stuff in a new spot.

One of the reasons I dislike packing is because it also
means getting rid of some of my great "I'll use that...
Someday." junk.

5. I moved back in January and I probably
threw as much stuff away as I packed up.

8. Do you miss any of it?
I can think of a few things I've gotten rid of
that I should have kept over the years.

Mostly sentimental items.

9. No. None of it. I didn't even know I had half of it.
But it made the moving load much lighter!!

7. Good point.
I guess establishing new social circles is a problem.

10. I will never move again if I can help it.
We moved into this house three years ago after we got married. Two thirty-something adults have a lot of stuff accumulated between them and two kids.

11. Packing!
When Greekspeak and I moved from Springfield to here in Tallahassee, we had a whole group of people come over on moving day to help pack and load the truck! I don't know what we would have done without everyone's help! We didn't throw anything away, we gave it to the folks helping us...that is...if they wanted it. Packing SUCKS!:nuke:

12. Selling a house or condo
I am in the process of moving and the part of the state where I have been living has so much new construction that anything "used" is not selling. My next door neighbor works for a real estate attorney and according to her 8 out of every 10 closings handled by her law firm are for new construction. It looks like I will be making two mortgage payments for a while. x(

13. Leaving loved ones.
I also hate packing. When we moved halfway across the country, we had movers to do most of the packing, but I still had to do a fair amount of packing myself (things I didn't want the movers handling).

15. Other. I always lose something
Usually something irreplacable. I've moved so many times, I've lost count (I started listing them one day and gave up when I got to 30) - just about every time, something has vanished. I can be so careful but things get lost. I had a beautiful photo of my mom when she was a baby - she was sitting in a field and it was a one of a kind studio shot. She was maybe 18 months old so it would be in the 1920's - lost it somehow. That one breaks my heart - along with my oldest child's original birth certificate - the one with the little footprints on it.
