So I'm seriously thinking about going to the DC protest...
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 07:01 PM by EOO
Even though I live in La La Land. And I have a few questions:

1. Where would be the best (and cheapest) place to get a hotel near the site of the protest?

2. Where IS the site of the protest?

3. How far in advance should I book plane reservations (and what's the airline of choice? Jet Blue had the second cheapest with $248 LGB - IAD and Independence Air was the cheapest with $218 LAX - IAD).

4. Is a rental car necessary even though the most amount of driving I plan on doing is from the airport to the hotel?

1. Answers
1. Best and Cheapest are not compatible. Best is in downtown DC and cheapest are probably in either Prince George's County, MD or around Springfield, VA.

2. The protest is at and around the White House

3. Book reservatios now. I prefer Jet Blue - I think it's the leather seats......

4. Rental car is not necessary if you're getting a hotel near the Metro. Local jurisdictions provide pretty significant bus service. However, if you're flying into Dulles, and want to take a few extra days to look around the DC area, I would rent a car - BUT, it ain't like LA, you don't need a car to get around.

3. If I do get to go to the protest, I plan on being there from 21 - 26th
And yes, I do plan on using that Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to have a look around the DC area. Go to bars, check out some of the tourist attractions, that sort of thing.
