1. If they're already on your computer...
Just go somewhere like www.photobucket.com, sign up and upload them there. Once you've uploaded them, copy the url of the image and paste it in your post.

2. First, you get an account at a site like Photobucket.
It's free. You go into Photobucket, and you download pics from your computer to your account there (it's very easy). Then, if you want to post a picture on a DU thread, cut and paste the URL for the downloaded picture into your post, et voila! Nothing to it.

3. You're a Mac owner and you still have troubles using your computer?!
Believe it or not, I am not insulting you or other Mac users. I am insulting a company that chooses to dumb down its customer base by using slogans like "computer for the rest of us" or "think different" while pandering to your eyeballs with transparent colored cases in a transparent ploy to sell you overpriced toys.

No matter WHAT the platform is, people still go to the big chain stores to get them fixed. Therefore people are the same regardless of what they buy. And have the same types of problems when using computers.

5. Ummm...I've always had a mac...
...and I've never had to take it to a chain store to get it fixed. The one (and only) time I had to get a repair, Apple sent a repair person to the house. All computers are not created equally.

7. I love my new Mac G5
Got it in May aftter 15 years of PCs and viruses. Fantastic graphics and media management (I store a lot of music on it).

8. Macs since 1987.
Never had to get one fixed at all, anywhere. Had to call Apple tech support once in all that time and they were great. Have a new iMac G5, love it.

9. Yeah, believe it or not...we just got a digital camera (believe it or not)
and I have loaded a bunch of pictures onto the computer.

By the way...I would buy a Mac over a PC any day. I use a PC at work and it is a pain in the ass.

11. Stop being a misanthropic crank unless you have advice on how to post
post pictures on DU.

Your (mis)characterization of Apple and Mac users is not helpful.

The OP has a new computer and like many other DUers he or she wants to know how to post a picture in a thread, not listen to your tired, repetitive, uniformed rant about how you hate Apple.

If you like your linux box, great I am proud and happy for you.

4. Drag whatever pics you want to post on the internets from iphoto
to your desktop, then go to www.photobucket.com and set up an account, after that you just click Choose file and your desktop will probably come up 1st, just click the ones you want to upload and you're done.
