4. Really? I loved SFU but I thought the last show sucked!
I hated the tacky ending with the age makeup and the projecting into the future. It just seemed cheap and anticlimactic. And they didn't resolve whether George's daughter might be pregnant. They left that open. Hmmm.

5. The makeup was rather cheesy, I thought, too.
I was really sad to see Keith got killed; when Ruth died and she sees Nate and her husband...man...got that lump in my throat.

HBO's website has the obits for the characters. Apparently, Claire lived to be 102!

I was wondering if Maggie was pregnant, too.

6. And oddly, when Ruth was dying, George hadn't aged!

9. George's daughter is also a pharmaceutical rep
and the ending was really just so that the show would end the way it started with Death.

I thought it was an incredible ending

7. I watched it twice last night, (BEWARE SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT)
and was soo glad I did. I cried through the first one, and its emotional impact really packed a punch for me! Later on, I had questions that were answered by watching it again, and I'm sure I'll watch it a 3rd time, before the week's over. By watching it slowly this time, I caught that after Ruth finds Maya's monkey behind the refrigerator, and she goes over to Brenda's house with Claire and Ted, Billy answers the door wearing a t-shirt that says, 'What Would Jesus Bomb?'. In the ending sequences, when David is marrying Keith, Brenda is sitting in the front row, pregnant, with a grown-up Maya, and a much older Willa, and her new husband(?). Also, at the end, when Claire is marrying Ted, David is sitting in the audience on the front row, to one side is Durell sitting with his pregnant wife and their son, and on the other side is Anthony and his male partner, they are holding hands. I thought that was cool. I want to watch it again, and see if, when Ruth calls Maggie on the cell phone, while Maggie is at the Dr.'s office, if any of the people sitting in the waiting room are pregnant women. I am still wondering if Maggie is pregnant with Nate's child.

It was such a great episode! still think so, more so, after seeing it again!

14. I feel so over the top but here goes: It's the best series in the history
of time.....I know, I know, I'm pathetic. It's just such an incredible psychological study into our own psyches (I think). We are all, as human beings, very flawed - obviously, some more so than others. However, the Fishers (and our own) flaws are what can make us endearing. I see parts of myself in every character...because we're all human. Each Fisher is an archtype (for example, Clair - the Rebel, Nate - the tragic figure, etc.) The show has depth that not (and I don't mean this in a judgemental way) all folks are going to get. It may be too quirky, too deep, or too out there. Man - I wonder if there will ever be a show that I am this blown away by.

15. You've stated it exactly
It was the humanity of each one of the characters that was so endearing. I think it helped me deal with early memories of deaths in my own family that had always been difficult for me to confront. I lost my brother to accidental death when I was seven and my mom when I was eight. No one ever really talked to me at the time about my feelings ... I just toughed it out alone. Six Feet Under really helped me with some deep issues in a gentle and loving way. I agree with you that it is the greatest series ever.

16. You have to watch the ending a few times
to catch everything. Lots of details that can be missed. Message me if you want me to tell you what they are.

Anyone else thinking that Claire on her deathbed is having her life flash before her eyes, hence Nate basically saying, "you can't take a picture, it has already ended." So almost all the future events we see are really Claire's life flashing before her eyes????

And the title of the episode, "Everyone's Waiting." Claire dies and everyone is waiting for her, explaining the smile on her face. She may be blind in this life, but as she -crosses over- she sees her family waiting for her in the next life or what have you...
