I recently got an old pocket pc and a GPS for it. It should be nice not getting lost. I tested it out and liked the voice guidance as well. My sense of direction really isn't all that great so this should be quite useful.

Oh and another thing, those with it should be thankful that Clinton told the Pentagon to stop scrambling the signals, allowing it to have much greater accuracy.

5. I like gadgets too
but I can't afford the newest and latest ones so I get older models off ebay. I ended up getting a GPS combined with a pocket PC pda and it works great and was relatively inexpensive. Ebay is great because after a while, if you get tired of the product you can usually sell it.

9. I got an iPAQ

and a Holux compact flash GPS. Granted, it did run a bit over my original intended budget with some additional stuff (like extra storage for maps - the map files can get big - the entire US would be 1.8 Gb!) but still I think it was a good deal. The pocket pc is cool on its own and has the ability to play mp3s, browse the internet, and other stuff.

8. You should see my "hobby" room
Full of vintage radios, guitars, recording equipment, and the Radio Enigma Command Center; Mrs. E says I'm my own multi-media monolith:rofl:

I have always heard people talk about vacuum tubes in the amps making it sound different. Do you know what that's all about?

12. It's true
It's got a more warm, fuller sound to it, especially in guitar/bass amps. Some musicians swear by them; I'm 50/50 on them. I have a number of tube radios; you can't beat turning off the lights and turning them on w/ the glow of tubes...

11. Both a handheld and our Prius
Of the two, the GPS navigation system in the Prius has been the most useful.
