You know what really makes me mad????
That I went to Northwest's site and the ticket I bought for D.C. is now 98 dollars. I paid $178. I knew I shouldn't have done that. Grrr......

1. Well, now that they're paying third-world mechanics

they can afford to cut the fare.

2. Thanks. Now I feel secure even....flying.
Actually, Detroit is a hub for NWA and they are reporting very little problems. We'll see. Like they would actually report the truth about that. Nobody dies=excellent.

39. cxl are being handled very smoothly
they went to the fall schedule early so extra summer flights were indeed cancelled

ppl on cancelled flights automatically rebooked

no problems for us

they'll call you but in case your cell doesn't get the call or whatever, sure, call a day or two in advance, no use getting to the airport earlier than need be

35. I've NEVER purchased Union /76 gas
Because they never settled a strike with my dad's union in '49. :-) Sounds crazy to some but that's the attitude I was raised with regarding unions and strikes.

My family has long memories. It's ingrained into my soul to be like this.

31. define crossing the picket line
if you've already purchased the service for delivery at a later date, like an airline ticket, you aren't crossing a picket line to use that service, if it is non-refundable. I don't think any of the striking employees would want you to forfeit your ticket. Now buying a new ticket now, during the strike, is crossing the line, in my opinion.

37. l used to be a shop steward for the Postal Workers Union.
I realize the political side of all this. BUT I also think unions are wimping out when they do stuff like that. Unions have to support each other or it's too easy for corporations to break them. I'm sure the attendants union would expect the mechanics to honor their strike if the tables were turned.

BUT as a consumer I have the freedom to choose and it's important consumers help the cause when they 'can'. That's what I'm saying.

I just think we should back the labor force as much as we can. It's so important to make those little choices that add up to big ones when enough people partake in them.

i flew kenya airways to/from nbo

great service, bad food, but plenty of booze to kill the pain

at least there is a lot to do around nairobi, i can think of worse places to be stuck

the time pressure of the wedding would be highly unpleasant however

30. Welcome to Northworst
I fly out of MSP, one of their hub cities, and they dominate the entire airport.

If you want to fly nonstop anywhere, you have no choice but to fly Northworst.

People in MN are disgusted with them. We've given them tax breaks, direct subsidies and way more than they deserve, and yet the executives still couldn't find their asses with a flashlight.

I have a flight on Thursday that I HOPE and PRAY does not get delayed or cancelled. Now I only hope the plane gets to my destination without falling apart in midair.

We're all in thrall to the anti-airline.

I hate to cross a picket line (being a union guy myself), but we really don't have much of a choice in these parts, do we? Either spend all day on a plane, or fly a crummy airline. Damn.
