1. A thoughtful column - one person's journey
to the next phase of his life. Very brave for sharing and I hope helps people understand the disabled, no matter how "able" they may seem.

Thanks for the link, enigmatic.

8. Hell yeah, WC is awesome
On a message board full of great human beings, WC stands out as one of the greatest.

All I can say is WC has been very supportive of me, given me lots of advice and gone out of his way to help me out on my decision to run for office. He's a good friend, I respect him greatly and have looked up to him since the very first second I've read one of his posts.

It's often not easy to write about yourself, especially some kind of affliction or illness. I love it when someone has the guts to lay themselves out bare for all the world to see. There is strength in that vulnerability. Liberation from a time of trial. We often find in ourselves that the one thing that should have weakened us the most, ends up making us stronger than ever. I have no doubt that WC is as strong now as he ever was in his life. We are enriched to have him here on DU with us.

Way to go Chris. Way to go.

18. My dear Wetzelbill!
I can't complain...Who would listen? I'm fine...

Getting myself geared up for my local Democratic Club meeting...

There might be fireworks tonight over the endorsement of the Dem. candidate for our Assembly District...

The guy we voted in last year, died this spring from a cancerous brain tumor...so there's the special election in November...

Some folks hereabouts and in Sacramento have already decided to push their guy and to squash ours...very dirty politics...

They'll probably jam our meeting tonight to try and force an endorsement vote...and we want to stop them...

It's a mess...they are behaving like Republicans..I have half a mind not to vote for their Dem. candidate in November...we'll see...

Sorry for the rant..could't help it...Thanks for listening!

25. oh I don't mind
Go ahead and rant away!

I know what you mean. Sometimes our fellow Dems act so badly that they don't really deserve our vote in the end. The big problem is when the Dem candidate really sucks, usually the alternative is some Right-Wing nutso, so you almost have to begrudgingly vote for the Dem. It's called voting for the candidate who sucks less than the other one.

I hate it. :)
