6. You guessed it. I walked through a construction zone
They are always playing AAF. Fuck I hate that station. Greg 'whiney-pansy-ass-gop-sellout-motherfucker-hiding-behind-his-mike' is always complaining about Clinton, and I've heard him toss "Sheehan" around a few times during my walks through the building. Then there's that idiot "Mistress" Carrie. At least O+A were somewhat funny before they turned the show into a raunch competition.

5. Clear Channel Radio wants to make sure that
we keep listening to the same handful of tired old classic rock songs for the REST OF OUR LIVES.

Corporate execs have conducted their market research and have decided which Zepellin song you will listen to. There is nothing you can do.

19. True, as anyone who went to High School in the 70s can tell you
it was always the song they ended the dance with. Not dancable, but they played it anyway.

And I always ended up dancing with someone 6" shorter than me, but that's another thread...

20. Well, it ended most high school dances I went to in the 90's too
Since I've been loving you, would have been a better choice.

13. Classic rock stations are mostly 12-tune jukeboxes
I often hear songs and think "I never listened to that crap back in the day!" They'll never play Zappa or Beefheart, but they'll constantly broadcast the most maudlin crap.

15. YES!
They play only a few tunes each by a small selection of artists. There was a lot of music going on back then. (Just as there is a lot of music going on now that is not heard on commercial radio.)

In the "old days" (shut up, you whippersnappers) radio stations would play whole albums. Or really long cuts off selected albums. (While the DJ's snuck off to smoke a few with visiting fans...so I've heard.)

14. Maker's Mark?

I owned the first 5 Zep albums and I don't remember it. Either it was later work, or it was sooooo bad, I'd get up off my stoned ass and move the stylus to the next tune.

21. What you said.
But then many of their songs I don't recognize by the title.

I wanna hear Ten Years Gone.

17. I ODed on riff-based hard rock some time ago
But I get what you mean. Even if you don't like Zeppelin, you have tracks of theirs you'd prefer to "Ozone Baby," for example.

22. As DU's #1 Zeppelin fan I apologize for "Stairway to Heaven"
I hate that song too. Everytime I see Robert Plant in concert someone always screams "STAIRWAY" but if they knew anything about Robert Plant they would know he hates the song too and won't do it in concert.
