3. depends on what you want it for, I guess

I drink a lot of bubbly, day to day stuff is Cava, Prosecco or Cali/New Mexico, sub twenty bucks. a minor milestone leads more towards a nv-chomper, 40-50 bucks. a medium milestone? vintage or rose chompers, 50-75. a real milestone? (like making it to Friday) NV Krug. birthday, christmas, etc? only one option: Clos du Mesnil.

dom makes an interesting mixer, cristal comes in a fancy bottle, but I have to claim guilt as a Krugista.

4. At My Wedding Reception I Had the Famous "Jacques Bonet"

which was notorious for being the cheapest bottle of bubbly you could get. At the time (1982) was about $3 a bottle.

We provided our own case of Jacques Bonet to the club hosting the reception. (Did the same thing with red and white wine.) The waiters wrapped the bottles in cloth napkins while pouring, and no one was the wiser. Total champagne cost for 88 people: $36.
