But I dig em exotic: Asian/Pacific Islander, vaguely Latino/native American. Like Benjamin Bratt or Jason Scott Lee. Yum!

19. I like smart, funny, bookish sorts.
I don't go for guys who are super buff, because I always wonder how much time they spend in the gym to look that way. I don't go for guys who are super skinny, just because it makes me feel too huge. I like guys who are medium to broad build, with something to hug and cuddle! Height doesn't matter much to me because I'm pretty short. Race doesn't matter either, I like all sorts. I do seem to prefer dark hair and eyes, but that's not a hard and fast rule.

I think it's personality that attracts me more than anything. I go for guys who are funny, and smart, and nice. I love affectionate guys who are silly and playful and good with animals. I cannot be with an overly macho guy, or a Republican, or a guy who only watches sports and action movies. He must love travel, good food and music.

Hmmmm... sounds suspiciously like my sweet husband! :)

30. We may have argued about this before, but I believe that humor and honesty
are at odds at a fundamental level. Humor seems to be at the very least a spinning of reality and quite possibly complete fabrication.

47. Whoa. I passionately disagree.
A lie is a statement made by a person who either believes or suspects it to be false, in the expectation that the hearer will believe it to be true.

Fiction and humour involve making statements believed to be false that the hearer/reader is intended to recognize as a falsehood.

The essence is in the intent to deceive.

62. I don't think you're right there.
TV satirists in the UK found out pretty early that they needed right-wing governments in power, as by far the most fertile source of humour.

Since r-w governments, in all but the most corrupted countries (e.g. currently, the UK and US) depend on mendacity and hypocrisy, it's inevitable.

On the other hand, while dishonesty tends to seriously blind people to truth, it does happen, sometimes, that individuals can be deeply, deeply dishonest, while yet recognising at least some of the very truths they routinely try to conceal and misrepresent.

But a characteristically honest person surely tends to be more aware of the absurdity all around us, and will prefer to see the humour in it than the tragedy, since the latter woud be unbearable. If we couldn't laugh, we'd cry, sort of thing. Well, them thar's my thoughts on it.

that will at least pretend to laugh at my jokes. I'm somewhat introverted, so no "hanger ons" and no high maintainence women please. Creative types, doesn't really matter what they are, writer, artist, poet, love them all. I prefer a woman that is grounded in who she is and where she wants to go, in general terms of course. Honesty is definately needed. Open minded as well.

78. Personality is more important than looks for me (honest)
I'm not saying I don't like looking at Jessica Alba, but I'm generally quiet & laid back, so have always been attracted to intelligent women with outgoing, energetic personalities.

I like to joke now that before I married my ex-wife, we didn't speak for 6 months... I didn't want to interrupt her while she was speaking. And, after our first date, she called me & we talked on the phone (long distance) for like 2 1/2 hours. When we were saying goodbye, she said, "it was nice talking to you" and I responded, "and it was nice listening to you."

My wife now is also outgoing and energetic, though not nearly as long-winded as my ex.

Lookswise, they are quite different - my ex was mabye 5'0", curvy Hooters girl figure, fair skin, blue eyes. My wife now is Asian, 5'4", very slim, black hair, dark eyes.

in between, I dated a smorgasboard of women of all shapes, sizes and colors. But, the ones I dated more than once were all the intelligent, outgoing types.

89. considering I'm only 21
If I liked younger guys, it would be borderline illegal. Give me an older man any day of the week...what I wouldn't do to have one night with George Clooney!
