that's a very easy read. Nothing really political, as I have fill of them over the past couple of years. I think I'm looking for something humorous. A collection of short stories are fine.

2. Straight Man, by Richard Russo

funny, an easy read and yet quite good.

we were indocrinated. (this was before EF, of course, now he lives in Bar Harbor and drinks espresso on the water.) funny how a pulitzer and a couple of movies reduces the need to make tenure...

he's a good guy, though, try Nobody's Fool as well, made into a movie with Paul Newman.

6. Anything by Carl Hiaasen. Funny, quick, easy read.

Has interesting, quirky characters, loopy plot lines and just wacky fun. Try Skinny Dip, Lucky You, Strip Tease, Skin Tight, or Basket Case to start you off. Enjoy.

My last short-story read was Charles DeLint "Tapping the Dream Tree" (sort of light magical realism.)

Travel-humor, maybe Tim Cahill, "A Wolverine is Eating My Leg," or "Jaguars Ripped My Flesh."

A little weirder: Mark Leyner, "Tooth Imprints on a Corn Dog."
