My mom sent this to me
She's actually a pretty nice and fairly liberal person. That's why this confuses me so much:

THIS IS GOOD!!!!!
ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION AFTER
YOU READ THIS!!!!!!!
WOULD I RUN OR WOULD I STAY??

Imagine this happening to you.....

One Sunday morning during service, a 2000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns.
One of the men proclaimed,
"Anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are."

Immediately, the choir fled....

the deacons fled......

and most of the congregation
fled.....

Out of the 2000 there only remained around 20....

The man who had spoken took off his hood......

He then looked at the preacher and said "Okay Pastor, I got rid of all the hypocrites......
Now you may begin your service.
Have a nice day!"

And the two men turned and walked out.

TOO DEEP TO NOT PASS ON.....

****FUNNY HOW SIMPLE IT IS FOR PEOPLE TO TRASH GOD....

AND THEN WONDER WHY THE WORLD IS IN THE CONDITION IT IS TODAY!.....****

4. Delete, delete, delete. These are tiresome, and
I love your mom! It's a hook for religious people on the edge; I'm personally not there because I'm not religious. If I were, I wouldn't need this kind of stuff to convince me further. As Cindy has said, how can you be on the fence? This applies here.

5. what gets me is

BUT THE PUBLIC DISCUSSION OF JESUS IS SUPPRESSED IN THE SCHOOL AND WORK PLACE....

Where do they get this from???? First of all religion is personal and it shoudl remain that way.. thay does not mean that we suppress.. I love it how their leaders totally misinterpret the separation of church and state.... it blows my mind... they spin it into "you can't EVER read a Bible they will burn your Bible and teach your children witchcraft.....

well that was a little melodramatic, but oyu get the drift.

6. Considering that it's all in CAPS
and that the message doesn't really "meet" the "lesson" it's difficult to understand exactly where the point is. I think that a large part of it (the beginning, anyhow) is true--that there ARE way too many hypocrites in the so-called "Christian" faith, and that the few who truly believe are probably decent people. But it's those 95% who use their religion as their label, and try to fake it in their every day lives to the point where if such a circumstance came, they WOULD be the first ones out the door.

Those of us who came from a religious beginning and chose differently along the way have stepped back enough to see things in a new light--we might not be the darlings of the RR, but our perspective should count for something since we have done it both ways, and have a clearer picture than many of what being an insider and then being an outsider is all about.

Personally, I have found that the constant philosophy within the Catholic circles in which I was raised (Boston Archdiocese) was "Do as I say, not as I do." Perhaps it was different for others who didn't go through the hypocrisy I went through, but it became apparent to me at a very young age that I was not suited for the kind of dedication and narrow sighted thinking that permeated my youthful self.

In this case, I would shrug and shake it off, though, allowing the cycle of blind faith to be broken at least at one of the branches.
