Exterminate your television set.
Or at least put it into Life Support for a while.

1. If it weren't for Battlestar Galactica, the NFL
and my Playstation, my TV would've been dead and buried a long time ago.

Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 07:17 AM by DIKB
I check occasionally, watch dvds more often than anything else. The only reason I really have cable is b/c of my roommates.

oh yeah and CABLE INTERNET. I can't wait till they get fibre to the home.

3. In 20 years, I have watched two TV programs...
both of them Oscar broadcasts. Besides that, I watched all of the live 9/11/01 coverage I could stand. Otherwise, I use my TV to watch DVD's that I get from NetFlix (shameless plug; I love it!) All this constant discussion of which talking head said what or who screamed at whom on "news" TV is meaningless to me. I get my news from NPR and various online sources that I trust. I don't miss TV one bit, and I highly recommend going "cold turkey." If there is something you MUST watch, wait till it comes out on DVD and rent it (like "Queer as Folk" and "The OC" for me).

6. I agree!!
I keep my TV so I can watch DVDs because I do enjoy movies but not the cost & hassle of seeing a movie in the theater. I do like some of the programs on HBO although Six Feet Under is no more  (BTW, I found that I'm getting HBO even though I cancelled it about a year ago so who is complaining).

4. Blow up the TV. Throw away the paper.
Move to the country, build you a home.
Plant a little garden. Eat a lotta peaches.
Try to find Jesus on your own.

5. Sorry, it's my chief entertainment in the evenings.
I enjoy my TV. I record programs I'm interested in and watch them when I have time. That way, there is always something interesting on. I watch movies, documentaries, nature shows, good mysteries, comedies. I call it the "Supernova channel." :-)

What I rarely use the TV for is news. I read most of my news on the internet.

I also read and write and am polticially active. I consider myself to be fairly well-rounded.

9. TV is evil.
My entertainment consists solely of Farley Brothers films at the theater and Jackie Collins novels.

12. I'm glad I canceled my cable a year ago.
PBS is all I need. I get out and talk to people more often and that's a good thing for me. :)
