Kind of Exotic Booze question.

Do Ouzo and Arak turn milky when you add water like Absinthe and Raki do?

3. I only knew of ouzo doing that

And only because one of my best friends in high school was Greek, and I would eat dinner over there a lot. Her dad always had some ouzo, and to thrill the guests, he'd put water in it. :)

I wondered, after a trip to Turkey and consuming (too much) Raki, and its similarity in flavor to ouzo - which I never liked but then I never got to go to Greece so that shows something about influence on preferences! Found some Absinthe in Alsace the same trip and after I got home and tried it decided these things must all be about the same - I have heard of Arak, but not tried it - now I will next time I go to the new Middle Eastern Restaurant I tried recently.

It's like the sweet apertife of Ouzo
