I just figured out a great way for DU to raise cash

Charge DU'ers 50 cents for every deleted message they want to restore. It doesn't mean the Deleted Message is restored, it just means that those that coughed up the half dolla can see it.

Like the Hide Thread function, but backwards, and for individual posts.

I'd love to be able to read some of those threads, I'm always too late for all the fun, but one question:
At 50 cents a time, how would the payment go, would we have to have a "bank" in place that we could draw from, as credit cards would be a little reluctant to take on 50 cent charges!

I always kick myself when I leave my computer to eat, sleep, accomplish some other unmentionable bodily function, walk the dog for her bodily function part of the day, go to doctor's appointments or work in the yard, only to come back to DU to find that DS1 has been having at some asshat, and it's all 'Message Deleted, Name Removed,' except for the odd post with no personal attack in it that lets you KNOW it was DS1. x(
