So my lower jaw seems to have fallen off my face
because I can't feel it. I got eight fillings today and now whenever I touch my lip, it feels like some weird rubber prosthesis stuck on my face. Also, posting on DU is basically my only method of communication for the rest of the day. Damn, this feels weird.

1. Don't you hate how that feels. I always think I'm drooling when I have
dental work. Might want to take an aspirin or tylenol before the Novocaine wears off, 8 fillings may hurt a bit.

2. Yeah, it feels like there's a gi-normous pool of spit under my tongue
but there's not. During the procedure, I tilted my head back to swallow once and the clamp and rubber dam popped off, so they had to do the three on my lower right quadrant without them. That was kind of weird. The fillings themselves are pretty minor, since they're all occlusives on top of the teeth.

3. look at the bright side
you DID get novacaine AND a power drill.
i cringe at the thought of suck it up and pedal drills.
OR they just yank em.

4. It's not like it hurts
It just feels incredibly weird. I've never had dental work before, beyond a cleaning, so this is a new experience.

It's starting to wear off now, but since their put in on the right side first, I can only feel half my tongue, which only serves to enhance the strangeness of the whole sensation.

6. Awww, I'm sorry....

I hope you have some soft foods or smoothies for later when the anesthetic starts to wear off...

Feel better soon. :hi:

7. I know how you feel, my Dentist gave me so much novocaine I didn't
feel anything for hours.

Wow, 8 fillings at one time.

I will match you with one crown glued on, one tooth prepared for a crown and a old filling replaced. This was on both sides of my mouth, I had so much novocaine I couldn't talk for five hours.
