It has been years since I have been to a rock concert

I am going to the Rolling Stones concert in St Paul on Sept 6.

Are there really "mosh pits" at Rolling Stones shows, or is it just Ameriquest trying to be over the top with its ad?

1. There are mosh pits at every show.

When the circle opens, just move aside. Moshers should take care of each other...

2. Honey, I'm sure some of the persons at the Stones will be the younger mosh

crowd, but for the most part, it's gonna be geezerland. I'm 48, I still go to concerts, so no disrespect there. Mosh pits are for teens and twenty somethings, you know, those that don't mind if they break something.

I got to get drunk w/ Paul Westerberg after a show, while Bob Stinson tried to score some weed from my bandmate, who wouldn't sell it to him! Another one of my favorites; both "Hootenanny" and "Let It Be" are classic records..

Moshing, which had it origins is slam dancing, is the one that's the contact sport.

I attended a benefit for a college radio station that had rounded up about a dozen bands who covered everything from hard rock to heavy metal. You could tell which bands were most likely to cause mosh pits by how quickly the women would leave the floor when they were announced, LOL!

But you're right about Ameiquest trying to be over the top--moshing and crowd surfing have become too trendy for their own good (though I think most Stones fans are too old to do it). I turned down chance to cover the second Woodstock concert by saying, "If I have to watch a bunch $100-a-ticket yuppies moshing to Sheryl Crow, I'd like to do it from the comfort of my own home!"

Last time I saw a concert was Elvis Costello at Shoreline here in lovely California. He rocked.
