1. Hmm, you're not thinking of 'Visions of China' by Japan, are you?

7. Yeah, incomplete earworms are the worst. I think enigmatic's right with
Red Rockers, they had a song just called "China."

9. They also did "Eve Of Destruction"
I guess it was on their second release.

China was a very good song, IMO. :)

I have the original version, and an elongated dance version.

11. I posted that tonight on another thread!
I love that version; very Byrds-y and hypnotic. They started out as a Clash-clone, too...

12. Found the lyrics:
China

Danced with wind and danced with fire
Killed the truth and called the liar
Bleeding in its mystery when the moon began to fall
Dreamers are not all they seem,
sleeping in her silent dream
She locks it all inside and hides it all away

China, China

Calling out to history
Is that the way it will always be?

China, China

Questions in my hand, and then
answers gone till I don't know when

verse:
All you speak and all you hear
Hand that's strong and voice it's clear
An unforgotten memory when the moon begins to call
Called you right and called you wrong
Time, the shadow, sings your song
Don't lock it all inside and hide it all away

China, China 4x

14. Judging by your screenname, it looks like you're an 80s music kind of guy!
I love that REM song, as well.

15. Oh, definitely!
I was a college dj in the 80's and REM was my favorite band for a long, long time. I haven't really liked their last few albums, but the earlier stuff is still pretty amazing to me.
