Ever done a face plant onto a hard surface?
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 05:34 PM by Jara sang
I remember when I was a kid, riding my bike and I decided to mess around with the front tire of the bike with my foot. My foot slipped into the spokes and got lodged in the front forks of the bike. The bike stopped suddenly causing the bike to flip with me on it. The first thing to hit the pavement was my face, more accurately my nose. I saw stars. I can still remember how that felt and it sends goose bumps down my arms just thinking about it.

1. How about a stucco wall

Still have broken capillaries on the end of my chin after all these decades.

2. Yup, on ice.
Put one foot on my driveway and before I even knew I was slipping, I was hitting pavement cheekbone first. Luckily, I turned my head and didin't hit me nose first.

3. No, but I did a forehead plant into a steel track for a sliding glass door
I could see my skull before they stitched it up. I tripped and fell as I was running away from my brother who was squirting me with a squirt gun.

I also busted up my eyebrow slipping on a patch of ice, but that's not really concrete per-se.

but I remember most vividly scraping my knees on the blacktop and the nurse putting Mercurochrome on the abrasions. Geez it burned. Did your school nurse blow on the medicine like mine did?

6. Almost exactly the same scenario as yours
I was carrying a plastic bag with some shoes or something in it, and the bag got caught in the spokes, then wedged at the fork.

Ker-WHOMP.

I got two black eyes.

8. The front wheel just stopped dead
and the back wheel came barreling over, like in a cartoon or something.

10. Oh, yes *blush*
When I was 18. It was about 1 in the morning. I was drunk. Wearing clogs. And I brilliantly challenged a friend to a footrace on an uneven sidewalk.

Predictable result. Charming roadrash on my face and a broken right foot that still aches when it's going to rain (because like a dumbass I never went to the doctor).
