Do I have to choose between a partner and
my values and beliefs. I can't find any 50+ men in Denver who are to the left and hate Bushit! I could have a date every night if this Bushit wasn't so important to me. Has this taken over my life to my detriment?

1. oh no..........don't do it.............
I wouldn't even think of dating a freeper woman....I would as soon date a smoker with bad teeth and oral hygiene. Please, check out that website on AAR; Liberal Oasis Dot Com or whatever. I have friends who are opposites and both couples cannot discuss any politics, is that anyway to live your life??

2. If you feel passionately about something...
There's no way to co-exist peacefully with someone that disagrees with you. I see most righties as decent people, but totally mislead, if that's the way you feel as well, it'd be really tough to be with someone you see as ignorant.

I'm sure Mr. Right is out there for you. There's quite a few 50+ Dems where I live, and my hometown isn't exactly a Liberal haven.

Best wishes to you.

3. It is possible.
There are too many other factors involved for me to give you a definitive answer.

;)

4. Keep looking! they're out there somewhere
From experience I know that dating someone with opposite political beliefs doesn't work, especially if you are passionate about your beliefs - a nd if you're here at DU, you're probably pretty passionate about what you believe.

Maybe you can find a man who is apolitical, who doesn't care that much. There are also a lot of dating websites for liberals, or post your ad that you're looking for a like minded soul.

Or, maybe you should leave it (the bushit) off the table for a while. Go on some of those dates and just have fun. Try not talking politics. Keep busy until your liberal in shinking armor appears!

8. Yeah, I like this solution.
I mean, I know we crazy anklebiters can be tough for the more mature crowd to put up with, but you might consider giving it a shot if you're not finding what you need from the other age groups.

6. How Do You Stand Being Around All Those Brainwashed People?
Anyone who still buys the Bushit after all this time is hopelessly brainwashed.
If everyone around you is like that, be somewhere else.

7. I feel the same way
I have been conversing with (but haven't met yet) a guy who, while he seems pretty nice, is a total freeper. We have already had one discussion about the Iraq war and he has totally drunk the koolaid. And he attended the Franklin Graham Bamboozlepallooza tour here last weekend. Said he was trying to save the world one soul at a time. I just groaned inwardly and I know that soomer or later he will try to convert me. But maybe not. Perhaps I am being too closed minded myself.

I don't know the answer; I think it depends on the person and how rabid they are.

9. Now your friend is tooooo rabid for me
I have as much problem with the 'born agains' as I do with the freeper loving kool aid drinking Bushit followers.
There are some moderates out there that don't love either party ( I'm getting very close) or are totally apolitical.
