picture question

Why do I sometimes get the dreaded red x box instead of pix? I thought XP was supposed to have addressed that. Anybody know? Thanx

2. Several reasons
Usually because the person posting the pic fucked up and got tne link wrong, or the server is down and cannot send the data, or the website knows someone is trying to link the pic and disallows it.

As a last resort, right click on the red x and choose "show picture" from the pop up menu.

Or, your computer could be ancient. ;)

5. Is this recent?
I have been having a bunch of trouble the last few days with that and having to hit refresh almost everytime I change websites or even my homepage won't come in (a weather page).

My husband has another user account on this computer (xp also) has msn (don't ask me, I try to educate the man) for his home page and it seems to be stuck on August 18th - and he can't access his email from there, has to go through google to a new msn page. WTF?????

10. Arg I just wrote a longish response and it vanished.
No its from the weather channel. A subscription that I am paying 20 bucks a year for  because it automatically renewed and I wasn't paying attention.

You have more stuff, this computer is 3 and a 1/2 and has no memory (128) and only a 20GB harddrive. AND I am usually running at 24kbps on the modem! wooohooo!

11. I have too.
Only on the desktop the laptop seems ok. My little icon that shows what speed you connected at comes up with a message that says I have limited connectivity and it goes to 10mbps from 100. The UPS says it isn't connected. Then it just comes back. Scans are all good.
