i used to like garage sales but then i moved to a hoity area where ppl think their crap is deodorized & even the garage sale prices are too high

You can't beat it for incredible stuff. I love to look for the "theme of the summer." You know, that appliance that turns up at just about every sale.

4. One current staple these days at all garage/yard sales is

a color printer. You can name your own price. People buy them and then when they need a cartridge they find out the price is almost like buying another printer.

6. I'm ga-ga for library used book sales

I buy and I also donate my used books. They get me coming and going.

Oh, and thrift shops. I hate shopping in the regular manner but going through other people's stuff is somehow very satisfying - kind of like going through your sister's closet. And of course, you find good buys.

came from garage sales or goodwill. I haven't bought a new pair of jeans in a decade.No need I can find them at garage sales for 2 bucks.
