I'm pretty picky about going to flicks with the heat, crowds and other hassles. I only usually make the trek for a movie that really really has great FX best seen on a big screen. Is this one worth seeing "on the big screen" ??
thanks in advance you culturally hip DUers :yourock:

Go to a matinee so you don't pay full price.

3. One of the few superbly crafted FX pictures of the year |

I thought "Batman Begins" and "Revenge of the Sith" were superior, but Spielberg's latest is a helluva thrill ride (think "Jurassic Park"). It just doesn't resonate like "Jaws" or "Close Encounters."
On edit: Spelling error

You will really enjoy the first 45 minutes. We can discuss the other stuff after you've seen it.
I just saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I loved it.

7. thanks for "no spoiler" there. I read the book and thought the original |
|
movie from 1953 was good so I'm hoping this lives up to the HG Wells terror quotient. I really hate gore though.....

12. my husband liked it. I was surprised because when we saw |
|
the trailers he was skeptical about seeing it, but his love of spectacular special effects movies and science fiction in general and Spielberg movies in particular trumped his skepticism
My daughter liked it too.
I haven't been yet.

Dont look for much character development, just enjoy the simple plot and special effects.

17. Hubby and I enjoyed it, thought the little girl did a good job acting |
|
thought the FX was great and all in all thought it was a good summer excuse to hide in a cool theater.
We probably won't buy the DVD, but may catch it again when it comes around on one of the movie channels.
