Shavers: Electric or Razors?

Okay, so I've been using an electric for awhile - nothing great, just a run-of-the-mill one. I'm thinking I should get a better shaver, but should I stick with electric or go to a razor? My dad insists that electric is useless, but I wanted to get some other opinions first.

What say you, DU?

4. Having used electrics for a long time

I find I can get an extremely smooth shave with them, which I can't do with regulars except by also producing a lot of nicks.

But the best thing about electrics are their portability. You can shave in the car, on the bus even. Plus, first thing in the morning, I am hardly awake or dexterous enough to be able to competently stand in front of the mirror in the bathroom and shave with a razor - shaving cream and water going everywhere, etc. - messy!

Use the Mach 3. Works great.

Shaving my face and head every day, I have to stop and clean out an electric every 5 minutes. And it can't get nearly as close, either.

8. Both!

I use an electric with Remington Pre-Shave Powder (excellent stuff if you're an electric razor user--it really does result in a closer shave) and a regular razor for the stubble on my neck. For some reason the neck-stubble is coarser than the rest and the electric just can't get it as smooth as it gets my face.

9. Hey, nicked guys, use SHARP razors, less force and save your blood

Personally, I find the razors for sensitive skin to generally be a lot sharper and safer to use.
