I went and explored the Woodman's Supermarket in Green Bay today...
I was extremley impressed at their international food selection.

I mangaged to pick up some of this...

I have a question for those of you familiar with this brand... Is there any special way that I should brew or store this stuff once I've opened it?

1. I need to check out Woodman's.
I've been to the one in Janesville. They're probably the same, aren't they?

Did you find the prices lower overall, or just "in quantity" stuff? I don't need 14 boxes of Mac & Cheese. :)

5. Depends on the product.
Ramen was 8 for a buck. Lots of good deals, though, and the international food section literally left me awestuck.

It was awesome.

12. You live in Janesville?
I'm from Fort. We used to go to Woodman's to stock up on stuff over 20 years ago. (God, I'm getting old!)

Thank you, tourism industry lobbyist ass cantaloupes.

20. Speaking of the Dells & tourism,
I live here & in addition to the tons of people & heavy traffic in the summer, now we are considered a Premier Resort Area. What that means to us is another .5% tax for most stuff on top of the 5.5% we're already paying. Unless you're in a business which caters to tourists, the locals really get screwed. But, hey the kids don't have to go back to school 'til Sept. 1st!

24. not to mention "tourist gas prices."
Gas in Door County is 10 cents/gallon higher, just because it's on the peninsula. In mid-winter, they drop down to the regular price, but after Memorial Day, they're back up again. No surprise that on weekends, when people travel to and from the peninsula, they stop here to fill up.

I love my little "city." :) :hi:

15. I've never seen that brand but if it's coffee, brew it like coffee.....
I always put a little more than looks like enough cause i like it dark and rich, but to each his own.

As far as storing is concerned, I heard a story a while back on NPR about storing coffee and the guy was asked about keeping it in the freezer cause a lot of people do that. His opinion was that it helped a little bit for storing for long periods but the most important thing was an airtight container. If you have a resealable, airtight canister it will keep just fine on your counter top.

19. It is a major German brand
Dallmayr is a famous Munich Deli, the coffee is sold all over Germany (and - apparently- the world).

Treat it just like you would treat any other normal (i.e. not Espresso) roast.

23. We go to Woodman's occaisionally
It isn't in our town, but a bit of a drive away. We tend to buy our non perishable food there because it is usually cheaper, sometimes a lot cheaper, than the non perishables at our local grocery stores. They also tend to have better variety of brands and carry the whole product line of the more popular brands.
As for fresh meat and produce, we tend not to buy them there. The meat in our town is usually their price or cheaper. Regardless, I don't trust such a big store as much with fresh items. This is especially true since the first time I went there, several years ago, the store wasn't up to the cleanliness standards that I'd expect from a good grocery store. They have gotten a lot better since the economy has worsened (I think that they were short staffed), but I still have a prejudice against them.
I am not familiar with your brand of coffee though.
