Please donate to help Louisiana's animals with and without homes!

The Louisiana SPCA has evacuated twenty-five dogs that are being held pending court cases and are on their way to Baton Rouge Animal Control to ride out Hurricane Katrina. Approximately 250 animals, strays and adoptables, will be moved to the Houston SPCA this evening in two 16’ climate-controlled trucks.

This is obviously a very intense undertaking for the shelter amd the shelter itself is said to flood extremely easily and will likely sustain major damage.

Please donate whatever you can - even if only a dollar or two - to help their evacuation expenses and also the extra expenses they will have after the storm, as they will surely be inundated with misplaced, lost, and abandoned animals.

Just a few bucks ($1-$5) from even 1/4 of DU would be an amazing impact on this shelter! Of course, many of us will donate more than that, and that increases the help that much more.

We've had so many from DU donate...these funds - no matter how large or small - will mean so much to the Louisiana SPCA. They'll have a rough time cleaning up after Katrina, but it's wonderful so many are willing to pitch in.

18. Please help ...

I can't get it to process my donation. It keeps saying "Please enter a valid amount for payment". Why are there 2 different totals? I seem to be missing something, and am getting very frustrated. I would like to donate.

19. Hmm...

If you go to the donation page, it will have a box that has a 1 in it, and the price and total will be $1.00.

In the Quantity box you can edit, enter the number of dollars you want to donate (example: type 25 if you want to donate $25, 20 if you want to donate $20, etc). After you type in the number, hit the "Recalculate" button just under it. If yu're donating say $25, it should then say 25 in the Quantity and the price and total should say $25. Then hit checkout.

Try that, and let me know if it works for you :)

I hate being pissy ... but why does it require you to total it yourself anyway? :argh:

They are every bit as reputable as the LA SPCA, and they are sending groups down to LA to help the SPCA after the hurricane.

Scroll down to the bottom for a link. They are an animal group that only works to rescue animals after major disasters like hurricanes, tornados, etc.

Or, you could just give the LA SPCA. I hear a lot of people are donating to them online from various groups, so maybe there's a problem with their site?
