newsest addition - our "cat-5"

Calypso is the newest addition to our home -- she's the 5th cat - full of energy - races around the house like a Hurri-CAT..

due to the abundance of energy and her "placement" among the feline residents - she's also known as CAT-5

Here are a couple of pics taken yesterday afternoon. The greyhound is Mint (3 yrs old about 65lbs) if you look closely at her back legs you'll see Calypso sleeping soundly.

1. Wow... a greyhound with cats?

Generally that's a no no, as most racing greyhounds are notorious for going after them, given their training on the track... Glad to see not all. Cute bunch...

3. we have two greyhounds

and they are fine with cats. Yes there are some that are not "cat" or "small animal" friendly

We do fostering of greyhounds, and the majority of the greyhounds are fine with cats, some are just very curious and will "pad" after them to check the cat out but this fades as they are with cats more and more, others have absolutely no interest in them. The greyhound organization I'm connected to does check them out for "cat safety" before placing for fostering or adoption.

it's not "cats" as much as the "darting" and "running" of cats and other small animals that get a greyhounds attention

when in the dog run - our greyhounds will "race" down rabbits, birds and butterflies...
