Is there a way to figure out my car's "build Date"? |

There is some sort of notice in the Sunday papers about Fords with all nylon-composite air intake manifolds, but I can't figure out the date on my '97 T/Bird. Anyone Know?

1. Mine is inscribed on the door |
|
You can see it when you open it. It has a bar code, the VIN, and the build date.
Don't know if Fords have that also.

2. Look in the driver's side door jamb. |
|
There should be a plate with a build date on it.

3. look on your driver's door panel |

it used to be on the white paper that is affixed to the side of the door that parallels the center post.

4. Look in your owner's manual |
|
Generally they tell you how to interpret your Vehicle's VIN # which will give you most of the information you want (For Example where it was built). Also most cars have such information on the Driver's post or Door (Where the Door meets the post).

5. There should be a label inside the driver's side door jamb |
|
or on the underside of the hood. I think you can also figure out manufacture date via the vin number, but you need to decode it.

8. check the door area or underside. |
|
If you can't find it, go to a local police department and give them your VIN. They'll run it and tell you everything about the car(even where it was made).
