I want to throw this computer off the top of my building...
My power supply is F'ed up....Is this a normal problem with Toshibas?

Does the adapter get extremely hot?

2. It is constantly switching to battery power...
EVen though it's plugged in and it says it's plugged in.

3. Mine did that too
And it constantly overheated and shut off. I've read that Toshiba has had a real problem with their laptops doing this. Supposedly it's fixed now. It's a shame, because I loved that computer, but I'll never buy another Toshiba.

8. Mine does that, too. Not constantly, but occasionally.
The battery drains even though it's on full AC power. Then it shuts off, and I have to unplug it and pop the battery out for a moment to get it to start recharging. And yup, it's a Toshiba.

5. I think based on my very limited experience
Toshiba manufactures some crap...My Toshiba problem has to do with an f'ed up inverter board. I've had two replacements and am going for the third.
They also restrict the DVD player to only 5 changes off of the US standard, instead of having a universal reader. Bastards.

not a laptop, but a no-tower desktop-beautiful, but very tempemental
