I like the guy....always have....nice guy....very little ego....seems like the type of guy you'd like if you worked for him....but he's not funny. He's just silly. Endlessly silly. Constantly mugging and acting goofy. Goofy for the sake of goofy. Conan was a writer on The Simpson's....wrote some very funny episodes....remember the one where Homer goes to college and rooms with the three computer nerds...."and here's a picture of Sir Oinks A Lot getting an honourary degree conferred upon him by Richard Nixon....here he is rolling in his own filth!!" Now THAT was funny!!
Oh well....I still like ya Conan....you just don't make me laugh at 12:30.

1. Well, that's one opinion |
|
I love Conan! Sure, he's goofy, but I also find him funny.
I keep wondering how he'll change when he takes over Leno's spot.

Here's an old quote.
Republicans have called for a National African-American Museum. The plan is being held up by finding a location that isn't in their neighborhood.

I know tonight's ep. is a rerun but those "cut" Star Wars characters got to me for some reason.
I love Conan. He is a big goofball..and he does alot of the same things that you mentioned (the mugging for the camera and jumping around and goofy stuff) from night-to-night, but there are moments of comedic gold in between, IMO. :)

5. One of my favorite things about Conan.. |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 12:03 AM by tedoll78
is how well he plays off of the audience.
If the audience groans or reacts in disgust to a joke, he will openly make fun of that reaction.. and I find that hysterical.

6. In the episode that aired tonight |

when he was asking the audience if they liked American Idol and they were absolutely silent. Hysterical.

4. Conan is by far my favorite late night talk show guy |
|
His stuff with the talking heads that come down on the big tv screen like Clinton-head and Bob Dole-head, and especially Don King-head is usually laugh out loud funny. His year 2000 skits aren't half bad either. Yeah, Conan's a super goof - which is really kind of refreshing compared to how stiff Dave and Leno seem sometimes. :)

8. I'm still waiting...... |
|
...sorry....he's the most unassuming, unaffected late night talk show celebrity....but he doesn't make me laugh....his scripted bits can be funny, sometimes are, but that's about it for me. Different strokes. It's all good. :)
