Unfortunately, I've been spending too much time with him lately. :-(
But, anyway, we we somehow got onto not liking Bush (and for lurkers, no, he wasn't bringing politics to work, I was and he never tried to push his beliefs on me) and then it turned to Kerry stickers still left on things. Then, he told me that I should see his car and I would be shocked. I told him that I doubted that and that I was pretty politically involved myself.
He seemed so excited to find that out that after we were done, he took me to the parking lot to show me his car. He had a sticker for each side. "Peace not poverty." "No war" and something else. But the topper was the Babs one saying that she should have aborted.
I laughed and said I bet that one got him in a lot of trouble. He said many of his fellow doctors aren't too amused by it. I said Jason and I have done war protests in Chicago and he said, "Me, too!" Then, he started talking about the '08 elections, going off on a tangent in front of the assistants.
Finally, one of them interrupted him to tell him he had two calls on hold. He was really disappointed to have the conversation end and went back to his calls.
I have the coolest doctor! It's just two in a small practice and they get me in the day I call if it's important, take as much time for the visit as needed and make sure you get your meds, filling a bag up with samples if you don't have insurance. Nice to know that there are some still out there who care about their patients and the world.
