13. Fuel oil -

I called early yesterday morning to have my 500 gallon tank filled. I was quoted $2.45 a fucking gallon!! And August is the cheapest time to buy fuel oil.

As of this afternoon they still hadn't delivered - so I called again. NOW oil is $2.65/ gallon.


The last few years under Clinton - $.99/gallon. 2005 - $2.65 and RISING.

I hope you republican fuckers are enjoying your "tax cut". Assholes!

7. The country is still deeply polarized thanks to the neocon plan for

a "new America". I feel the oil prices will finally affect the economy big time and when they housing market goes south-we'll realize how much we all have been living on credit.

I don't usually lose my little optimistic streak but it started to fade yesterday and with all the bad news today it is gone. Out here in the middle of the country there seems to be a rumbling and it is not happy. It feels rudderless, like every man for himself and that always gets bad. I hope things begin to pull together but I do think it is going to get worse first. At least that is how I feel today, it is not a usual feeling for me. Bad karma in the air right now.

10. I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of the republicans

Even if they aren't directly to blame for this disaster (and obviously they aren't), they will take the rap for the slowness in getting New Orleans fixed, for the lack of immediate response from Chicken McAWOLCokeHead, and rising fuel prices.

The republicans are done, at least for one term.
