Please stop staying New Orleans is gone!!!! |

It's taken a major beating and it sometimes seems hopeless, but when the chips are down we will unite and New Orleans will return bigger and better than ever.
We need to keep positive thoughts for this wonderful city (Gratefully I was able to visit back in Oct 2003 but I was there for a certified class and didn't get that much time in there) and help out where we can to rebuild.
I never thought NYC would recover from 9/11 but it did and it became even stronger. Even those countries hit by the Tsunami found a way to rebuilding again. It will be hard work and this country will need to roll up their sleeves to help rebuild. We will need strong leadership to help rebuild and I'm putting my confidence in New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and Louisiana Governor Kathleen B. Blanco to lead the way (I have no confidence in that idiot in DC - we know what Bush is capable of doing after he reneged on money he promised to NYC after 9/11).
Keep New Orleans in your prayers and keep your thoughts positive. Do not mourn her death - she may be in ICU but she is NOT dead!

1. I felt like most posts I've read were from people in awe.. |
|
...of how well people have done in the wake of the hurricane. They have shown amazing courage and selflessness. For me & mine: We know NOLA will come back. We intend to honor the old man, my father, by hearing the Preservation Hall Jazz Band there someday.

But I'm not sure I want to argue about it. I'll just say that NO is in a much different situation than those that cite. I don't believe that NO will be rebuilt, not completely anyway. I hope I'm wrong.

It'll be new and improved and I'm sure they'll redo those levees and add another couple of feet on to them just incase!

5. I hope it doesn't come back |

It was stupid to build it there once, it'll be dumber to build it there twice. Building a city on the ocean, below sea-level, is just toying with death.
I blame the French. Name a French 'colony' that isn't fucked up.

7. Why blame the French? Blame the Dutch instead. (sarcasm) |

So we have to let Amsterdam go, too? :sarcasm:
What is it about being below sea level that makes cities so coll? :smoke:
