I forgot to mention... my station will now suck ass

So, one of the news wire services we were on closed down. And my boss isnt' renewing the other one we use. In other words... myself and my co-worker are now responsible for ALL THE NEWS ON OUR STATION. Meaning that we're going to have to scan the internet and steal/re-write stories from other outlets...how proud do I feel?
Worse yet, now my stuff won't be going to networks, so it's lousy for my career. (And the reason I'm looking for a new gig soon)
My boss says this will save the station around $4,000 a month.... considering the extra work I'm putting in for this now... you'd think I'd get a raise wouldn't ya? Especailly since the cancellation of one wire service means I don't get my monthly cheque from them for the stories I filed.

I don't even know if it still exists. But it was a wire service back in the day (Canadian University Press). I know it's not much, but, heh. worth a shot.

You know, we used to have the reputation as the best news in our area...I mean THE BEST.... people used to tell me "I only tune in to your station to hear the news."

Now, my boss wants to ruin that.

Maybe you could invite reps from CBN and UPI to your office, lock them in a closet, and take bets on which one will survive the longest on bread and water.

It wouldn't help you with the real news, but it might distract you from your misery.
