6. it is better to donate it to such a store

they are not as profitable as libraries. It used to kill me that people always wanted to sell books to me, and yet others would donate to the library. You might say that the library does not turn around and make a profit from it, but our local library had a $70,000 budget and a million dollar building whereas I had a $35,000 building and $16,000 in annual sales. I wish I could have gotten a job at a library instead of opening a store.

And having lots of people read you is more important than royalties, no?

or donated to a library or left on a bookshelf. ($$$ doesn't matter on this anyway.)

My books are my friends here...I NEVER sell them...I keep them, and now and then I re-read them...

I especially would never sell a book that was written by someone I know...
