That's a hopeful looking photo. I think the dog belongs to the man and he is evacuating separately because they won't let animals on rescue missions most of the time.

Mrs E and I talked about this tonight; if given a choice of leaving w/o the kitty or satying w/ her and taking our chance in a disaster, we'd take our chances. We couldn't leave her, no way. She's a part of our family.

7. Six Cats Here

I moved 2,071 miles with them - I'm not leaving them for any reason. Out of so many horrible things in NOLA, I am glad whenever I see pictures of refugees with their animals, and I hope having the companionship of their creatures provides some comfort in this unspeakable horror.
