I don't think I will ever be able to wrap my mind around this
I watch all of these stories on the television, and it is just too surreal. This is not America in 2005. I have seen many a years on this planet (okay, only 41), but this is just too freakin' unreal.

1. I never expected to witness something like this...9/11 had that surreal,
you're watching and Independence Day type movie, feel to it. And this, this...I just sit numb, and then I go and sit on the front porch and cry, and nothing seems like it will ever be the same here again...

...and then a neighbor comes over, and we talk a bit. And they have that same look on their face, and yet, we're so removed from it still. It's such a helpless feeling.

4. this is not america
A little piece of you
The little peace in me
Will die
For this is not america

Blossom falls to bloom
This season
Promise not to stare
Too long
For this is not a miracle

There was a time
A storm that blew so pure
For this could be the biggest sky
And I could have
The faintest idea

Snowman melting
From the inside
Falcon spirals
To the ground
So bloody red
Tomorrows clouds

A little piece of you
The little piece in me
Will die
For this is not america

There was a time
A wind that blew so young
For this could be the biggest sky
And I could have the faintest idea

This could be the biggest sky
This could be a miracle
This could be etc

6. I keep asking myself, what country is this?
It's just completely horrifying.

8. It's beyond comprehension
On one side you have so many fellow citizens risking their lives saving their neighbors, on the other hand you have a government that waits for a photo-op. I'm proud to be one of the civilians, I'm embarrassed to have this as our government.
:hugs:
