Instant classic: Aaron Neville's version of "Louisiana 1927"
the Randy Newman classic ("Louisiana, Louisiana, they're tryin' to wash us away..."), on the NBC concert last night. "Amazing Grace" doesn't qualify 'cause he's done it before at Jazz Fest.

Honorable mention to Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr., two iconic N.O. musicians who probably would not have thought to work together until now. I've never been a huge Connick fan, but he really shone singing over Wynton's playing. He's got phrasing and all that other good stuff top jazz vocalists are supposed to have.
