Illinois Attorney General.
Attorney General!
They screwed up my car and won't do ANYTHING ABOUT IT! I can't believe it but according to Boycott City they do it ALL THE TIME!
He're's my emails (in reverse order):
Subject: Re: More info....Invoice 1047 63278, Total Disatisfaction, Jiffy Lube is a Organization that preys upon its customers by not being responsible for damages caused on customer's cars cause by incompetantly done repairs that IT RECOMMENDED but shows absolutely no RESPONSIBILITY FOR. Further research makes it all too clear that this practice is company wide and inherent in Jiffy Lubes' computer programs which recommend needless repairs and non-mechanic technicians who do them incompetantly. The evidence is clear from reviewing literally thousands of letters from dissatisfied customers that this policy is completely intentional.. Wanna read literally thousands of angry ripped off people? Look here:
http://boycottcity.org/view/index.php?itemId=55&creatorId=1 A clear pattern emerges:
1) Any error, no matter how obvious and outragious is a mechanical error.
2) Jiffy Lubes computer program aggressively recommends complex technical repairs and then over and over again when they have been incompetantly done, never makes it right. Saying it just happen to break or any ridiculous excuse.
3) They're clear strategy is to pad the bill, using a customers lack of sophistication to take advantage of the elderly and the non-mechanical person.
4)In effect they are engaging in a corrupt business practice.
First I will write my local papers; I'm gonna get in touch with all the people locally who have been victimized. The owner of store 1047 sounded like he had been through this a million times. I wonder how many people he has done this to in Des Plaines? Perhaps we will organize a picket of Jiffy Lube. Then I'm going to write to my city government and see if there is anything we can do to protect our citizens from parasites that feed on the old who mostly populate our town. Then I will send copies of this to Lisa Madigan, Attorney General of Illinois and maybe we finally stop the thieving way you operate. Its disgusting.

More info from my mechanic....
My mechanic says that if the seal was bad when I brought it in you should have informed me so it could have been replace prior to changing the fluid. Otherwise you damaged it. End of story. Please re-imburse me without delay...

ORIGINAL MESSAGE
Dear Jiffy Lube,
Immediately after I took my Jeep into my local Jiffy Lube for rear differential work, the oil started leaking out of the rear differential. So I took it immediately back and told them to fix it. They said that the seal was leaking and that a mechanic would have to fix it. All Jiffy Lube did was put it in thru the top. Maybe it will stop. Anyway it wasn't their fault. The rear seal just majically started leaking after they work on it... (right)
So now my Mechanic says it IS Jiffy lubes fault! He says when you suck out the differential fluid you damaged the seal. So ANyway I have now paid 26 dollars for lube and 80 dollars for my mechanics time to fix Jiffy Lubes screw up!
Today I went to the Jiffy Lube and it was like talking to a wall. Question: Does Jiffy Lube stand behind its work or not? You owe me 106 dollars and I would like it in kind or cash. Jiffy Lube screwed up my rear differential seal and it cost me 106 dollars.
Please lets resolve this amicably.
Sincerely,
(For 106 dollars Jiffy Lube routinely trashes relationships with customers... it couldn't care less)
