The other guy
sitting this well with me, working the 12 hrs opposite mine, got all drunk and twisted off 2 days ago....got arrested. I haven't slept in 40 hrs, but supposedly my boss is on his way up here so I can get some sleep. Any suggestions?

1. Ask your boss for a bonus.

2. Oh, that's in the works.
I have only exchanged like 15 mins of words w/ him since Jan, and now that I have him on location, and not all holed up in the office, we can "talk." I have a lot to tell him. I have had 3 weeks off since Feb. I want a BIG BONUS.

3. One other thing I would demand....not ask for...DEMAND....
besides that huge bonus you should definitely get....

A week off with pay...at least a week....

40 hours without sleep...? WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF MADNESS IS THIS?

I trust you're not moving till your boss gets there....that is what you said, right?

Their treatment of you is nothing short of criminal, IMHO...

:nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

4. Oh, I'm getting compensated
I'm a wellsite geologist, sitting a production rig in the Rockies. I make a decent coin, I'm just really frazzled.....I'm taking 6 weeks after this, I don't care if we do have to turn away a contract or two.

5. lol. It's hard for me to imagine
a geologist getting drunk and stupid and arrested. I guess that's a stereotype that I have. College educated folks are not necessarily level headed I guess.

7. Now where on earth did I get the idea that you're a trucker?
I'm not paying attention, I guess...

So you're a geologist? Well...geology is a subject I've done some reading on....

Have you ever read the book "Annals of the Former World" by John McPhee?

It is outstanding! And it was written for the layman, but I think you'd still enjoy it....

8. That's a fantastic book.
Did you know he got the Pulitzer for that?
I'm a lifelong resident of Wyoming, so I love the stuff about Love in "Rising from the Plains." It's really close to my heart. "Geologists are autochthonous." No doubt.
