Jeb Bush at the FSU Miami Game: "I gave 20 bucks"
did an interview after halftime, praising Red Cross and the generousity of fans donating. Said "I gave twenty bucks". Boy, I hope he can make his mortgage this month.

4. ROTFL!
Perfect response!

I think they are!

What with Bab's comments, and FuckStick's inability to lead or offer assistance, and his dad's fucked up presentation...

yes, I think they are trying to out asshole each other.

I wonder if Jeb's daughter will go on national TV offering a hit of meth to the first one that can crawl to her apartment.

32. Actually, as someone else pointed out yesterday
regarding Babs disgusting comment about the hurricane survivors, Jeb (as told by Rove) is trying to deflect all the anger and venom away for W.....and it has been effective.

Rove could teach Machiavelli a thing or two....he manipulates people like they are puppets....I believe he is the spawn of Satan.

Next, maybe the daughters will do or say something bad....

3. How generous! How like a Bush!
Stingy, racist, elitist, sacks of shit.

It costs more than $20.00 to buy hot dogs and sodas at a football game.

Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 01:53 PM by Lochloosa
everyone who came to the game to give. Asking students to give up beer for the night and donate 10 bucks.

20.00 x 50,000 = 1 million
10.00 x 30,000 = 300,000.00

Total 1.3 mil...not a bad haul for one night

11. Giving what you're asked is all well and good, especially if it's all
you can afford.

If you're lucky enough to be flush with cash, then you give more than is asked, on behalf of those who cannot, and for those not as fortunate as yourself.

Jeb, along with the rest of the Bush clan, can go rot.

21. Thanks for pointing that out! If we're gonna villify,
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 02:03 PM by Rabrrrrrr
let's at least be accurate.

Were I in Jeb's situation, even I had decided to toss a hundred into the jar, I would have said "I gave my twenty!"

Since that's what they were asking for.

Not that I think the asshole gave any more than was asked for, but still, we must strive for accuracy and fairness.

34. indeed, we have no idea
hos much, if anything, he gave privately. let's not go overboard in frustration.

Saying "I gave more than you tonight' doesn't make sense in a specific fundraiser. If they're selling t-shirts for $20, for example, even if you give $100, you don't need to advertise that.

Really, the guy is an OIL millionaire. He should fork over more cash than just $20. For Jeb, that's a tip while eating at some overtly expensive restaraunt.

22. So that's what it means!
Does "compassionate conservative" mean that in the event of a disaster, you're only supposed to fork $20 instead of completely ignoring the event (like a lot of rethugs are).

18. Shhhh!!!! Don't jinx us. Not only are we suffering enough by
being double-BushWhacked, but Katrina did cause some damage and deaths in Florida before moving into the Gulf. I know it was a smaller storm and not remotely as catastrophic, but I really fear what the next two months might have in store for us here.

35. John Wesley Harding needs to update his "Live Aid" song
July 13th 1985 was the day we watched Live Aid
The Global Jukebox came alive
We fed the world that day
We fed the world that day

Well the powerful voice of pop music, solve the problems, feed the world
So what if there weren't any blacks involved there was Everything but the Girl
Bob Geldof has no ego that man should get the Nobel Prize
By the time he sang the solo on Feed the World
I thought he should be canonized

I felt guilty about the starving but I felt good to be alive
And I must admit I shed a tear or two in the very moving video for that great Cars song Drive
Saint Bob made me feel like shit
So I got out an envelope, opened it
Put in a very crisp ten pound note
It was the same one I used earlier to snort my coke

(and that made me feel good inside
sending the money, of course, not snorting the coke)

43. hey jerkbush
I work with kids of whom 80% of the families qualify for free and reduced lunches at school (that is - at, below, or not much above the poverty line) and in one day the collection is far more than "20 bucks" - and none of them had the advantage of using govt connections to get real, real rich (as Jeb! did before he became gov.) What a sorry excuse for a man.
